Update to Barnard High Speed Chase Arrests

The young man taken into custody was 22 year old Nathan Grabast of Glen Elder.  Upon arrest, he was taken to the Lincoln County jail for suspicion of hit and run and leaving the scene of an accident.  His passenger was taken to the Mitchell County jail with an outstanding warrant from Saline County.

During his time at the Lincoln County jail, Mr. Grabast's condition worsened until an ambulance was called.  He was taken to the Lincoln County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The KBI has been called in and is in charge of the investigation.  Lincoln County Attorney Jennifer O'Hare said that no foul play was suspected in the death of Mr. Grabast.  His body was taken to Topeka for an autopsy to determine the actual cause of death.

  1. "During his time at the Lincoln County Jail, Mr G's condition worsened...he was pronounced dead." It goes without saying that this individual was beaten to death by the deputies involved in the chase; very common. Let us hope that Federal authorities have been called in.
