Barnard Jam

After 3 years, the monthly Barnard Jam will cease.  Marilyn Switzer, host of the event, made the announcement on Friday.  The future of the card party is yet to be determined.

It's that time again...

The Barnard Jam will be held on Saturday, April 6th, at the Barnard Community Building.  Food will be served at noon with music to follow.  Cards will start at 7 p.m.

Good Attendance at the February Barnard Jam

The February Barnard Jam was held today at the Barnard Community Building.  Marilyn Switzer, the hostess of the jam and evening card party, was pleased.  She said it was probably the best attendance at the jam which has been a staple event in the Barnard community for three years now.  The homemade soups were a hit with those in attendance.  Her hopes that attendance continues to rise and more people would attend.   The Barnard Jam is held on the first Saturday of every month with the card party being held on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

Barnard Music Jam February 2

The next Barnard Music Jam will be on Saturday, February 2, 2013.  Soup will be served at noon with music starting at 1 p.m.  The soups on the menu are beef & noodles and smoked sausage & vegetable.  The soup is homemade.  Card games will begin at 7 p.m.

Barnard Card Party January 19, 2013

The Barnard card game party will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Barnard community building.  Come join the group for card games.

January Barnard Jam

The Barnard Music Jam will be on Saturday, January 5th at the Barnard Community Building.  Soup will be served at noon with music starting at 1 p.m.  The choice of soups will be black-eyed peas with ham and cream of tomato soup.  There will also be jalapeno cornbread and regular cornbread.  Marilyn made all the soups and breads from scratch.

All are welcome.  Don't forget cards later that night at 7 p.m. in the same place.

Barnard Jam and Card Party on December 1st

The Barnard Jam will take place on December 1st in Barnard at the community building. Marilyn is serving soup.  Music will start in the early afternoon.

Later that night, the card party will begin.  Games start at 7 pm and all are welcome.  Come see if you can beat Kay Jackson at pitch.  From what I hear, she is a formidable pitch player.

The bi-weekly card party will be held on Saturday, September 15th at the Barnard Community Building.  Cards will start at 7 pm.  The card party is held on the first and third Saturdays of the month.  All are welcome.

The monthly Barnard Music Jam is Saturday, September 1st at 1:30 at the Barnard Community Building.  The bi-weekly card playing party is also Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Music Jams are held on the first Saturday of the month and the card parties are the first and third Saturdays of the month.

A good time is had by all and all are invited.

Barnard August Music Jam

Don't forget... On Saturday, August 4, the Barnard Music Jam and Card Party will be held in the Barnard Community Center. The jam will be at 2 p.m. and cards will start at 7 p.m. Pitch is usually the game played but if there are enough that show up, you can probably find others willing to play something else. There isn't an admission charge though Marilyn would appreciate chipping in a few dollars to cover the building rental for this community event. Hope to see you there!

The Barnard Card Party is scheduled on March 17, 2012.  The card games begin at 7 p.m. and go until whenever.  The card parties are held on the first and third Saturdays at the Barnard Community Center.

The March 3, 2012 Barnard Jam and Card Party was held today at the Barnard Community Center.  Eight musicians from around the area came together and played a variety of music from gospel to country.  The musicians in attendance were Kenny Wallace, Randy Halfhide, Paul Seehafer, Tammy Seehafer, Gene Stithem, Coy Lewis, Luann Howe, and Debra Stovall.  Soup was provided by Marilyn Switzer who organizes the monthly jams.  The proceeds go to the Barnard Lions Club to provide for the needs of the community building.

The monthly Barnard Jam will be on March 3, 2012 at the Barnard Community Center.  Local musicians will be playing and the public is welcome.  Soup will be served at noon with music starting about 1 p.m.  There will be multiple genres of music played. 

At 7 p.m. there will be the bi-weekly card game party at the community center.  Bring snacks if you want and have a great time.
