Melvin Hart Will Celebrate 90th Birthday

An open house for Melvin Hart will be hosted by his family on  Saturday, August 2 at the Barnard Lions Community Center.  The reception will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  He will be celebrating his 90th birthday.

Melvin Hart has been a lifelong resident of Barnard.  He is a farmer and along with his wife, owned Hart's Grocery Store in downtown Barnard for many years.  Mr. Hart is a charter member of the Barnard Lions Club.  Though he is mostly retired now, he still helps his son, Leon, on the farm.  He is also still quite the dancer and has a smile for the ladies on Wednesday nights.  Mr. Hart is a wealth of knowledge on Barnard history and keeps up on the happenings around the community.

Happy Birthday Charlene Watson

Charlene Watson celebrated an undisclosed number of anniversaries of her 21st birthday on December 15th.  Happy Birthday Charlene, with best wishes and blessings for many more.

Monty Fuller 65th Birthday Party

The party for Monty is at the Beloit Dairy Queen on Sunday, November 24th at 4:30 pm.  All are welcome.

Monty Fuller Celebrates 65th Birthday

William Montgomery "Monty" Fuller of Barnard, celebrated his 65th birthday on Saturday, November 16th.  He was born in 1948 to Richard and Mary Vauthan (Montgomery) Fuller in Dallas, TX.  He grew up in Highland Park, TX.  He graduated with a degree in Business Admistration from St. Edward's in Austin.

Monty became familiar with Barnard through his affiliation with the Wallace family.  He relocated to Barnard full time because of the quiet community with potential.  He has happily made it his home.

A birthday party has been planned for him and further details will be made available as they are confirmed.  He would love for all of his friends to attend.  The party will be at the Beloit Dairy Queen on Wednesday...time will be announced shortly.

Caccie Ullom to Celebrate 90th Birthday

A 90th birthday open house will be held for Caccie Ullom.  Family and friends are invited to come celebrate Sunday, April 14, 2-4 p.m. in the Beloit Diary Queen party room.

Caccie Ullom was a resident of Barnard and is the maternal grandfather of Barnard residents Jeff and Nick Wallace.

Two New Members of the Biggs Family

Nick and Sara Biggs announced the birth of twins on December 11, 2012.  The twins are Aidan Joseph and Adilynn Grace.  The were born about a month early so they stayed in the hospital as a precaution but are at home and doing well.  Best wishes for happy and healthy lives for the new Biggs.

Movie Night Was A Success

On Friday, June 22nd, over 30 people attended the ice cream social and movie night.  "Joyful Noise" was the movie shown.  People from as far away as Leavenworth, Kansas attended the social and movie.  Several said how impressed they were with the presentation of the film.  Free popcorn and peanuts were provided.  Barnard Lion Club member Marilyn Switzer made four kinds of ice cream and Jan Dowlin served.  Host, Travis Zirkle, was surprised when the crowd burst into "Happy Birthday."  It wasn't common knowledge that it was his 41st birthday, but family and friends were busy letting everyone in on the "secret."  It turned out to be a great time for all who attended.
