Entering east of town. |
Salt Creek north of the bridge. |
Looking south on Cathanne. |
Cathanne and Ballard. |
The Barnard water tower. |
Looking north on Section Line Road. Barnard straddles two townships, Scott and Salt Creek. |
One of my houses. It is the oldest house in Barnard. We aren't sure if it is restorable but plan to mothball it just in case we can. |
Another shot of the oldest house in Barnard. It was built in circa 1880. |
I don't think this is the oldest garage in Barnard (smile) though it does go with the house. |
Mills and Section Line Road looking west. |
South on White Street |
First Methodist Church of Barnard |
Baptist parsonage. |
A glimpse of downtown. |
The old Webster place. It seems much larger on the inside than it does on the outside. |
At the south end of Main Street. |
This little gem is slated for demolition. Behind the trees, it is in pretty decent shape. The porch needs a little work. This cottage needs to be saved...will you be the one? |
Downtown, where all the lights are bright? |
The new firestation. |
The old firestation. See why we got the new one? |
Lions Club and Community Center. |
City Hall is in the old bank building. |
The old library houses the city tractor now. |
The water tower...it is in danger of being torn down. It is the only real significant piece of architecture left. It was built by the WPA. |
The old Barnard School. High School closed in '66. The grade school closed in '77. |
413 Smith as it appears today...no house. The house that was here was featured in a previous photo spread. |
My little lovelies...they are so sweet and EXCELLENT judges of character. |
Another of my little lovelies. This one is named Travis...he is always hungry and a bit of a basket case. Just like me :-) |
A restorable victorian cottage. |
This one really is restorable...wait until you see a sample of the inside. |
It really is restorable...get ready.... |
This is the inside of that house. The wallpaper is peeling but the plaster is intact. The pocket doors will close all the way. It is a gorgeous house. It will be a future feature in the Banter. |
The old section house built by the railroad. It is the second oldest remaining house in Barnard. |
I have always said that every house has a story. God bless this house. |
